In Lieu of our normal monthly business meeting, the Catawba Valley PCEA will be having a
"Celebration of Life"
to honor Grover Locke Edwards, Jr.
Grover Edwards was a Charter Member of the Catawba Valley Chapter of PCEA. He received the Estimator of the Year Award in 1990, was a member of the "Order of Isosceles", and served as Chapter President in 1990-1991. At the National Level, Grover served as National President in 1993-1994 and received the prestigious Rudolph J. Barnes Award in 1996 for exceptional service to the organization. He also served for many years as the Treasurer of the Ted G. Wilson Memorial Scholarship Foundation and continued to be very involved with the foundation through 2013.
A 1978 graduate of the NCSU School of Civil Engineering, Grover Edwards was employed by: Hickory Construction Company; LP Cox Construction Company of Concord, NC; Strickland Martin Construction Company of Charlotte, NC; Hale Construction of Wilmington, NC and Paragon Builders of Wilmington, NC. He had been a partner of Building Systems of Catawba County and owner of Site Con, Inc. of Hickory, NC. He most recently worked with Woods Engineering of Wilmington, NC.
Members of the Catawba Valley PCEA Chapter will be celebrating Grover's life on Thursday, February 20th at McGuire's Pub in downtown Hickory. There is no cover charge for this event and the event is open to anyone who wishes to attend. The bar and restaurant will be operational for everyone to enjoy at their own expense. The celebration will start at 5:30 PM.
